archi-treasures is a 501(c) (3) organization that was founded in 1996 with the mission of raising community involvement in the urban landscape. We partner artists, architects and designers with community groups such as public housing residents, schools, and gardeners by engaging them in collaborative projects which build community and beautify public space. |

James Brenner is a Chicago-based sculptor and Director of Chicago Sculpture Works. He received his MFA in Sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has a studio on the Near West side where he creates essential, elemental sculpture in varied combinations of steel, bronze, iron, glass and neon. |

Cooperative Image Group (Co-op) began in 2003 as an artist’s apprenticeship for high school students that aimed to organize Chicago-Area artists and youth in order to build community and civic services through arts education. Co-op fulfills its mission to strengthen the community by providing innovative and accessible public and applied arts programming. Co-op brings two disparate populations, recently immigrated artists and long-time neighborhood residents, together to fortify the neighborhood in the face of increasing pressures from street crime, developers and gentrification. Co-op’s vision is that with support, structures and commitment in place communities can undertake public work on their own behalf, thereby creating and sustaining safe, interesting and energized spaces for the residents of Chicago. |
